You've probably heard that somewhere, but it is true. For those of you who read my facebook reports, there is no need to read this post, it is the exact same text.

"I heard the unfortunate news yesterday that my grandfather suffered a stroke. He is alive. He woke up last Friday morning not able to move the right side of his body. He didn’t want to go to the hospital, but was egged on by my mother and uncle to do so. It was a very minor stroke, and prognosis is good. Within 12 hour...s of the stroke, he was walking again and being himself.
In the back of my head, I am worried about a relapse. Realistically, we should look at this with logic. He exercises and eats healthy (doesn't drink healthy, lol), and doesn't smoke. I am going to assume that the signs we are seeing are good, and they occurred because he takes care of himself.
He has high blood pressure. A lot of my genes from my mother's side of the family are dominant, and I have stage one Hypertension (not full blown). My grandmother is in rehab for breaking her hip, so my grandfather has been stressed out lately. Did this add to the likelihood of his stroke? absolutely, because when stress hits us bad... our blood pressure sky rockets.
When I was being treated for panic attacks years ago, I was so stressed that my blood pressure was high enough to be a small heart attack. I am talking about EXTREME STRESS that is enough to distress someone. Thankfully, I have taken steps to lower my stress, and my blood pressure, lowering my risks. All comes back to the BP, eh?
I will update occasionally on his condition. For now, he sleeps soundly and is back to life. This is good."
