These master grade kits come with a lot of plastic. I've only started building this model, and you can see that I have a lot of parts to go. Now I am starting on the head, and I did the lower torso because it was easy and I felt like building something this evening.
The assembly that fits in between the head pieces will be a challenge- we need to spray the head again after the seam work, but I need to mask off the chin and eyes in the process! Perhaps I can go back and paint the chin red again. Italian Red doesn't cause too much of a fuss, I have found.
The quality of testor's enamels when they go on properly. I am impressed.
The lower torso, front head piece, the clear mid piece. That torso is the original white molded color that came with the kit. It will be sprayed, but I like the gray I chose for this kit.
The clear plastic piece. We can paint this black, but I don't want to fuss around with it. I will use the sticker eyes; and I will apply a miniscule amount of cement to help the sticker agent bond tight.
The head pieces fitting together. Note that the halves are not exactly the same shade of gray- that gray was sprayed on as a primer.
Another view of the assembly, fitting stage (I did NOT put them together, DON'T DO IT unless you are ready!). The vulcan cannons will be painted yellow.
