1/35 Panzerkampfwagen II

The Panzer II (in Germany, it was called the Panzerkampfwagen, "pocket tank") was a main battle tank used by the Wehrmacht [Vehr-mah-kt] during World War II. Originally, the tank was a "quick fix" until more tanks could be developed. The Mk II (as I call it) was used in many roles in the war- from main battle tank to recon. Mk IIs had a small main gun, but their rate of fire was amazing for a tank at the time (some 2-3 rounds per second). The tank had a 6 gear transmission, a reverse gear, Maybach engine, and a 55mm gun as the main gun. Armor thickness was approximately 13mm (YIKES).

This is a 1/35 Tamiya kit I bought years ago. I put it together, but never got around to painting or decaling it. Within the next month I can have that done. I plan on painting it an overall Panzer Gray (this is where PG got its name afterall) with added rust to the engine vents, etc. I plan on painting the shovel and other added accessories.

It should look great when I am done with it. I am going to create two hard points in the lower hull and attach the tank that way.
