RX-78-G05 Head Work Part IV

Masking off the interior face for seam work. I was going to putty the head- but found a new technique that would create panel lines.

Liquid Plastruct. This is a plastic welder that will weld small parts together. It can also create panel lines. In my original train of thought, the head needed to be perfectly joined so that the seam could not move. Should the seam move even a fraction of a millimeter, it could crack the putty work. I was going to clean the seam lines, then putty.

Sometimes you have to cut out small pieces of tape to mask off the sections you want. The face was no exception.

The results were nothing short of fantastic. I am letting the paint dry for a good 16-24 hours, then I will begin handling it. I need to insert two side vents and the iconic crest into the head, then it will be complete. Onto the legs tomorrow!
