I've got 30 minutes to a late night lab, so let's talk about some Scourge heroes. Scourge are some of the newest cards from the Icecrown block, and you can play as one too! This article will look at four cards of interest that I pulled this evening: Kel'Thuzad's Reach, Orbaz Bloodbane, Plague Eruptor, and Crypt Fiend.
Crypt Fiend
Crypt Fiend is a nice card for a common. He is a late game, cost 6 bomb that can be a royal pain in the butt to standard alliance and horde decks. If any damage is dealt by an alliance or horde ally, all of that damage is prevented! He has [5/3] for stats, but can easily be negated with shadow resistance cards. All in all, it's a nice card to play in the late game if you are playing with scourge.
Kel'thuzad's Reach
Ahh... heh. This card is a lot of fun. It is a 4 drop for [3/1], which is pretty good. But the card will be played more in constructed for its effect- when combat damage is dealt to an opposing hero, you can put target ally in their graveyard into play under your control! This won't serve much use in the early game, but if you manage to remove a bomb off the field (or get your opponent to discard a good ally card) you can really ruin his day. Playing the opposite faction? you can control an ally of the opposite faction in your party; you just can't play them from your hand. There is a reason why this card is a little pricey.
Orbaz Bloodbane
When looking at this card, you have to look past the awesome card art and read the fine print. This card is OK, but not good by any standards for a rare type of card. You have to put 3 damage on Orbaz and destroy a quest or location you control, and your opponent does the same. This can control your opponent's resource placement, but other than that this card really stinks, IMO. As a 7 for [7/7] drop, it deserves a little more oomph.
Plague Eruptor
This card should be a staple in all scourge decks. He is a [3/3] for a 3 cost drop, but his ability makes you think twice about attacking it. If he is dealt non-fatal damage, he is destroyed, and deals that much nature damage to each opposing hero and ally. Crap! Not only that, he has [unlimited] in his typeline... Oh a deck full of these... what a b*&^%...
