Worldbreaker Sneak Peak: Reprints, New Stuff, and Revival of Diseases
If you remember back a few sets, [Arcanite Reaper] was a way to win games. The weapon returns again in Worldbreaker, and Death Knights can use it! Heirloom counters seem new, and I don't know what they do- but I DO know they will pump this weapon +3 ATK per counter. You could combo this weapon with that one card that allows you to add counters.... yikes.
Citadel Enforcer's Claymore is eh... kind of subpar. It's a 2H sword, and I'm glad it only costs 4. You can drop this as early as turn 4 (without acceleration), and swing as early as turn 5, but you are paying 4 resources to swing with it- a big cost. It's a common though, and I'll probably get a lot of them. They could have made it uncommon with a stash ability- that could have made it more viable. Nice card art, too.
Chains of Ice is a new Death Knight ability that will reinvigorate disease decks. Attach it to a target opposing ally, then you get to search for a disease card and put it into hand. This can be very powerful, and a good form of control as early as turn 3. I think I'll make a deck based around Chains of Ice, and include [Mind Freeze] in it. Death Knights are heading down the control department, and control is what I do well. Here is a list (pre-worldbreaker) of current Death Knight diseases:
*[Corruptor Mimi Whippleshade] is the only ally that currently interacts with diseases. If you want to build a deck involving her, the card is viable.
*[Blood Boil] is a good consideration with Chains of Ice if you need a quick fix to rush decks- but I would sideboard it.
* [Frost Fever] is a nasty card if used correctly... it will shut down any decks based off of mend or assault, but will stop that annoying crap. Another control card that I would include in this deck.
* [Icy Torment] is another nice card for a cost 1 disease.
* [Icy Touch] is another nasty card. I see a control theme here: -1 ATK per Icy Touch. Icy Touch, Chains of Ice, Icy Touch. hehe.
* [Plague Strike] would work in this deck, but I would replace it once a better disease comes out.
Throwing around the ideas!
