Is Internet Freedom Really Declining? Not as Much as They Want You to Think

I read an article on CNN that said governments worldwide are trying to censor the internet. To avoid confusion, I should explain "blocking access" to content and "removing content". The part we should be concerned about, and an error the CNN author made, was that countries are asking Google to remove content. This is not blocking information and it is not data discrimination. A country, in my opinion should ask to remove content when:

1) It threatens the life or property of an individual or organization
2) Violent towards other human beings or animals

but NOT when:

1) information or views differ from that of the government's agenda.
2) someone is posting something illegal. Go remove it instead. Things such as CP, which is illegal worldwide.
3) a government finds material "blasphemous" in any way.

If a government censors content for any of the three reasons listed above, that is censoring information- and a lightly censored sector of the internet endangers the entire freedom of the internet, right? That's what the black/white; right/wrong people want you to think. The world is full of gray, and very rarely do situations end up purely white or black. Content that threatens lives or property, or is violent (torture, murder, abuse) should be removed. The stupidest thing I have ever heard about this hooplah is "their site rules violate my freedoms by restricting my right to this banned content". Deal with it, and go elsewhere.
