The world championships are over now, and where is the hunter class? surprisingly, many people think it is making a come back in the competitive scene. In the casual scene, this means many good things for the hunter class. Here is a hunter deck I am building that I am likely to acquire. It features cheap cards, but also includes some nice Beast Mastery cards. This deck is beast master oriented.

This is the blue version of the deck- for raiding purposes, I like to keep a red equivalent nearby (switch out hero and allies) to quickly switch to horde. This hero is pretty good- but any beast master hunter will do.
Grumpherys was the best choice out of the blue "beast masters" released for the game. He allows your pets to become elusive and untargetable for a turn. You can really make this ability shine if an opponent is trying to wipe your board of pets. Intimidation will pose a big problem for boss players and opponents alike- and I guarantee that card will be a big target for removal. It is a cheap and easy way to keep your opponent exhausted. Master of the Hunt provides a nice attack and health boost for your pets- but try to get more than one pet out before using it. The Beast Within is a must play card for Beast Master hunters- it is cheap and allows you to attack with your hero for 3 DMG and take none in return. For the cost of the card, Master's Call is just awesome- and it can really help out if the boss player is unloading on you in Naxxramas.
Snipe is a staple removal card for hunters- use wisely. Stable Master will allow you to have more than one pet out at a time (up to 2)- try to guard the card wisely; it is a prime target for removal. Getting to the allies, Dundee is a staple card that should be in every hunter deck. At the start of every single turn, any damage dealt to Dundee the first time will be negated. Mikael the Blunt should also be a staple in all blue hunter decks, and a lot of people like to use him in any alliance deck due to his effect. Swift Ram is a new mount card that will allow you to take advantage of your hero's race, and cycle a card. With Huntress Xenia, you get a free protector and inspiring presence (which if I look at it now, only really helps Mikael the Blunt). The Beast Within is a nice untargetable ally, and Crusty is a reliable pet- in the future, if a really cool pet comes out, I will replace Crusty. Woodsie Leafsong is another viable removal card that is a staple in many decks.
Envoy of Mortality... is just sick (xD). I threw in four of those instead of putting in 2 King Dred's Helm and 2 Envoy of Mortality. Trapper's Rifle is also a good second alternative. Finally, I ended with a good staple group of quests, including Rise and be Recognized, Proving Grounds, Tabards of the Illidari, and Dr. Boom!. A few of my friends criticize my use of Dr. Boom!, but I like the card because of the low costs of this deck.
I am sure people will have a few complaints about that deck- and I'm sure I will too; this is what testing is for. The deck seems solid as a blue rush with some pet synchronization and other goodies. This deck, as of September 2010, costs roughly $37 dollars online, but it will be cheaper if you already have a lot of the cards. There you go! a reverse engineered deck from the Hunter Worlds 2010 template. Give it a try!
