Riveting Day: But Pays off in the End

It's 4am in the morning EST, and Im bundled up, dressed, and driving over to Wal*Mart. I heard a leak that Nintendo Wiis would be on sale to the public, so I hurried my carcass on over there for the 8:00am sale. There was a line outside, so I decided to wait with about 20 other folks, some who had camped out in the 12 degree chill since 9pm that last night.

As 8 rolled on closer, we had about 200-250 people in the line to try and secure a Wii unit. The store manager came out and ran a successful "Wii Event". Police were on guard and they would not hesitate to throw people off the premesis for screwing around. He eventually honored a list, and I was number 26 of 35 Wiis there. Nonetheless, my toes frozen in pain, my legs stiff and my heart held high, I entered to the Customer Service desk to pick up my Wii. I was escorted out of the building and told to go home. WOW.

At long last a little patience and perserverance paid off. Research led me to that line, a bit of luck helped me to my Wii, and of course a big ol' blessing from the Big Guy Upstairs. I had fun with my Wii for about 20 minutes when I got called to the dentist for a teeth cleaning, and we know how much fun that is. Being knocked off and yelled at for my brushing habbits and risks for diseases I made it safely out of the dentist office, and have played about 6 hours worth of Wii tonight (a lot of Zelda: Twilight Princess). Ill post pics as soon as I can get them up tomorrow.
