It has been circulating in the news that hackers, probably "chinese" ones, hacked into Lockheed Martin networks to steal classifed information regarding the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter. News agencies across the US claim an attack occured without a significant source ("former" workers).
Lockheed Martin claims that there was no breach in security, although there are many attempts made each day which are stopped with cyber-security protocols. I am going to side with Lockheed Martin on this one. Data on the programme is encrypted, monitored and carefully sent through the network with many classified protection systems in place. The "real" data that could compromise the programme is stored on computers not connected to the internet and locked away. I seriously doubt anything was taken from the program- and just because hackers got in does not mean they saw any data or stole it.
The media needs to watch what the hell they broadcast or publish, because their accusations are baseless and are often proven incorrect. No cyber-security system is perfect, but you shouldn't take that as a threat that someone got in and stole data. The Pentagon is not aware of any intrustions and investigations found nothing out of the usual- no downloading or uploading of information that was not on order.
Link- I smell fraud; if the Wall Street Journal posted it someone has something against Lockheed Martin. Like the Pentagon claimed- if they got something good- there would be an uproar in Congress.
