1-35 Tamiya IDF Merkava Mk I Terrain

Working on the terrain this weekend. I realized something before it was too late- I could have built up the base material to make sand dunes! To try and preserve what I've got anyways I am going to do an overall spray of scenic cement (requiring an attachment) to cement down the stuff. Another blunder also crossed my mind: get some friggin' play sand! Then the question becomes how do I properly cement that sand to the base material? There is some goop out there and I am not sure where to get it.

Anywhoo- I need to take a trip out to Hobbytown tomorrow and get this spray gun. I am HOPING that when I do an overall spray that the turf does not clump- I am counting on the fineness of the turf as detail for the sand particles. The sand to me... feels a little too "mellow" of a yellow, almost like pixie dust. I would like to paint the turf (sounds crazy, eh?) a lighter sand color then see if my merkava really needs some paint or not. I am playing with shades and hopefully I pick the right ones.
I think it would be a good idea if I spray a sample patch first before spraying the whole dang thing- incase the stuff does clump I can at least save the top layer of sand that has not settled into the clay yet. Why did I use clay? Well, once the turf has settled I can then repress the tracks into the sand and get those track marks- after all
