Without further ado, lets get started.
Verizon Communications
Verizon Communications is a tele-communications company specializing in cell phone service and other phone related services.
In addition to Comcast listed below, Verizon has been a partner in cooperating with the RIAA and MPAA in monitoring network traffic and supporting a 6 strike espionage rule. Verizon has also been accused widely of selling private customer information. In previous years, Verizon has been accused of tax evasion, eventually paying those taxes, but lobbying for bills such as SOPA, PIPA, and CISPA in an attempt to censor the internet.
Without the consent of customers, Verizon has turned over private information and recordings to the National Security Agency, a violation of the US Constitution's 4th Amendment. Verizon has also blocked access to 4chan and sites such as Wikileaks, effectively censoring the internet from their end and lying to customers.
Verizon has been a staunch opponent of a free and open internet, participating in corporational and political "secret" meetings to impose the TPP treaty on the American people, stripping some of their constitutional rights. When corps cannot pass legislation through the house, ones such as Verizon, and many others, resort to bypassing and ignoring democracy and legislation.
For these reasons, shame on you Verizon.
Shameful Silver Poo, 2012 Award
Comcast Corporation
Comcast is a corporation that sells "high speed" internet, phone and cable packages in the United States, and possibly other countries. Comcast made tier 2 this year with multiple complaints and anti-consumer business practices.
Comcast has been widely accused of selling customer information to third parties. Since 2006, Comcast has been known to oppose network neutrality legislation, allowing for a free and open internet. Comcast has been known to hire relatives and children of politicians to maintain an insider status in Washington DC.
Comcast is currently being investigated by the FCC for throttling and disrupting paid customer communications in an attempt to censor, throttle, and disrupt P2P communications that it deems unfit.
Where Comcast went horribly wrong this year is their attempts in two locales. One is the support of SOPA, PIPA and CISPA legislation to censor the internet against any infringing link, with "infringing" being loosely defined. Comcast, with its lobbying on capital hill for censorship legislation has attempted to undermine the 1st and 4th Amendments of the Constitution and take away rights from consumers and ordinary US citizens. The fallout from SOPA and PIPA was so large that supporters had to back off as Congress shelved the issues due to large voter outcry.
The next horrible error condoned by the corporation was the institution of their 6-strike law policy and monitoring of customer's networks. Paid off by the MPAA and the RIAA, which earned 4th place this year, internet providers are being paid off and/or threatened/coaxed into monitoring communications to block customers from downloading perceived "illegal" content.
Shame on you Comcast. Shame.
Shameful Golden Poo, 2012 Award for Worst OrganizationThe Roman Catholic Church
Religion, in any sense is always controversial, and in this award, we are not holding back and are calling it as it is. For a little more than half of a millenia, the church has exercised its power in controlling nations and extending its corruption to the masses, in the past, requiring you to pay indulgences to the church for doing things human beings do on a daily basis.
To start, this year, as with every other year, the organization has brainwashed people, and more importantly, children, into believing that if they do not submit and obey to the dogmas of the church, without question, that they will burn in a place called hell for eternity. Besides this, the church preaches discrimination against those who commit "atrocities" such as being a homosexual. In addition, as with the memeplex of Christianity, children are labeled as a "christian child" before that child has any proper mental reasoning capacities to make an informed decision. In short, they are indoctrinated, brainwashed, and abused.
Speaking of the Catholic Church and abuse, the US government is now crossing the line, previously "respecting" religion by not arresting catholic priests who molest young children. For around 100 years, and probably longer, priests have abused little boys by having sex with them, then filling their heads with "this is normal" and that "you must do this and obey". As for the punishment of these pedophiles, the church does not turn them over to authorities and instead "shuffles the offenders around to other churches".
The church has condemned homosexuality as a grave sin, the punishment for which is death. As such, it has promoted bigotry and discrimination against homosexuals in America and worldwide. It has also widely condemned atheists as mongers, monsters and people not to be trusted. Many front runner organizations in the United States, many of which are republican, can be labeled as the church itself, pushing for dominionist policies and the takeover of our democracy to instill the rules and laws of a text that, at oldest, is about 3000 years old.
Although not directly responsible for, the church has supported actions that encourage faith healing, which should be considered abuse when parents refuse medical treatment for their children in turn for their "faith healing". It's doctrines, which affect over 1 billion people who subscribe to the sect of Christianity have turned many of them into narrow and hateful bigots. The church has, for a long time attempted to supress women's rights and cover up child molestations.
For this reason, and a score of -120 versus the silver poo's score of -50, the Roman Catholic Church has earned the shameful golden poo reward. In the past, the church was known to smuggle Nazis out of Germany after world war 2, has bred women underground for the establishment of a pure race (in dungeons), and had gained such a status that excommunicating someone was a death sentence.
