The "expected" deadline day is tomorrow for the kit! I have progressed enough to hopefully finish the kit within one or two days. Today I began the removal process of paint from the rear deck and cleaned the part. I re-sprayed deck tan and dull coated the paint job. I then constructed the mast and radar tower and attached it to the superstructure. I also attached the final attanae to the bridge. Added the oil fence attachment and completed the miniature boats. Began construction and painting on the SH-60 Seahawks. Also went out and bought a marker that acts as a paint brush and highlighted in the nameplates for the kit. Also put a finish on the block and stand, but ultimatly I want to add another block on the opposite side so the model can be displayed from either side.
Tomorrow I need to 1) seal the deck tan and paint the non-skid surface on the rear deck and then attach any final details and paint deck detail on all sections of the ship. I then need to add two pieces to the middle superstructure to add realism, then construct the weather vane thingy near the front of the ship, attach the anchors, finish the Seahawks and give the ship a dull coate finish once the final block is stained and complete. This will be a large display piece =).
