Man this is taking longer than I expected. I need to remain patient though- you can't rush near perfection. I just finished priming and painting every blue part on this guy, and when I came down this morning to shape and sand the white parts, I noticed that the rear skirt and the back chest plate are two different shades of blue. This means that I did not apply enough paint to the blue parts. To play safe rather than sorry, I am going to go back and paint every blue part other than the rear chest plate and re-seal it, setting me back about 2-4 hours. Stupid I know, not to mention I forgot a nub on a critically exposed cockpit armor part. That has to be completely redone.
The white parts came out nicely from filing and sanding. 75% of them are complete. Once I finish fixing the blue paint job, I am going to wash the white parts and begin mounting them to skewers. I may have to do them in waves because there are so many- and I need to take extra time to thin and mix the white paint. White and Yellow are the hardest colors to paint, and this guy has both.
16.7 hours so far on Wing Gundam, and I haven't even come close to final assembly. I would be finishing up the Musashi by now. I've spent 17 days on the project; averaging 0.98 hours per day. I suppose that's my normal rate. Musashi had 1.56 hours per day of work- so I suppose that I should spend a little more time building models and less time doing other hobbies.

The color difference is hard to see, but obvious up close. |

See the jewel armor? Go south a few millimeters and you'll notice the hatch part has a nub on it. It needs to be fixed. |

Models on display or waiting finishing/repairs. |

The tank, which doesn't have all its parts, acts as a stunt double so that I can test how paint is applying to plastic. |

Completed kits and boxed ones waiting to be built. |

This used to be a cruddy shop- until I turned it around and organized it. |

mini air compressor. This model doesn't have a tank, and needs a break after 40-60 minutes of operation. NEVER turn it on where I have it- I always pull it out for better air circulation. |

Work area. The Q-tips are for cleaning the airbrush paint intake.Old pringles containers being used for part baths and water containers for cleaning my airbrush. |

BBQ Skewers help to hold parts and keep your hands cleaner. I still wear one glove though- but it did cut down my glove use (using BBQ skewers). |
