Like a house I lived in over five years ago, our current house has a small shop in the basement. Unlike the previous shop, this one has a window. More on that further down- that is a very important note.
I was told that I could use the basement shop for model building. Cool. Utilizing any space I am given for FREE, I set down there to see what I could do with it. The table was dirty. Light fixtures, hose pieces, nails, screwdrivers, it was just a mess. I cleaned it up and found a small portion of the table I can use to build. I thought the fluorescent bulb that lights the room would not be enough to work- but it seems to be enough.
On a tangent, I found the family rifles- a Remington BB and a Remington 22. I toyed around with them (just holding them up in a firing position), unloaded of course. The other guns are packed away somewhere.
I'll head down later today and take some pictures. I have been out of AA batteries for my camera and have been absent from picture taking. The room also features a sink, a fridge (that is not plugged in) and outside is the massive basement and the most luxurious home bathroom I have ever seen.
The space below the top of the table could be good for paint storage. I have an idea to build a slot system like Hobbytown USA uses: except I will use wood blocks and taught string. It's all I have, and it will work.
As for spray painting down there, I still have to convince the old man about it. It will likely not happen, so I will need to devise a portable spray booth to take outside. On that note, no painting can be done during the winter- it will be too cold. Oh that window- it is important to have ventilation down there with paint and Tuoline circulating. A small fan will help too.
