Wreckage Raises Questions from Janes

I'm not a conspiracy theorist, or someone who has to stick their nose where it does not belong, but this is an interesting development. The helicopters used in the mission to confront Osama Bin Laden may have been new variants of the Sikorsky Blackhawk, or completely new projects of their own.

According to Janes, from what is left of the wreckage, the features cannot be matched to any helicopters in their catalog.

Sikorsky could be working with the Pentagon to provide this secretive platform. To say that "secret" crafts do not exist is ludicrous. The U-2, the F-117A Nighthawk, and countless other examples of secret technology have been developed for the defense of the United States without the wide knowledge of other manufacturers, enthusiasts, and those educated on defense matters. Classified details of the helicopter, such as technology, mechanics and the overall design needed to be protected from those who have no need to know. It is standard protocol to destroy weapons platforms to deny snoopers access to study the weapon. As for the wreckage of the craft that crashed in Pakistan, it may be on its way to the lowest bidder.
