Now Might Be A Good Time for a 3DS... or wait 6-9 Months

Nintendo recently announced that they lost money this quarter, and were hoping that 3DS sales would pull them up. They [the sales] didn't. Nintendo, at this point should realize exactly what the problem is, and it seems that they are ignoring it.

When launch titles are unexciting, and/or only show off hardware aspects of a system, then people will not want to purchase that system for those games. Coupled with slow development times, Nintendo needs to begin making games that players want to play. In addition, third party support is a must. They have it- but it will take time to develop good games.

I am holding off on a Nintendo 3DS solely because of the game selection. The price tag was high to begin with, but I was willing to shell the money out once I got it. Good news: they are dropping the price in hopes more people will buy.. It seems like a nice incentive: but it also suggests that Nintendo is ignorant to the problem. When better games come out for that system, I will look into purchasing one. I would wait an additional 6-9 months, if not until this holiday season to pick one up. Wait for the good stuff to come out.
