Hackers Stealing Classified Lockheed Martin Programs? I Seriously Doubt It

It has been circulating in the news that hackers, probably "chinese" ones, hacked into Lockheed Martin networks to steal classifed information regarding the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter. News agencies across the US claim an attack occured without a significant source ("former" workers).

Lockheed Martin claims that there was no breach in security, although there are many attempts made each day which are stopped with cyber-security protocols. I am going to side with Lockheed Martin on this one. Data on the programme is encrypted, monitored and carefully sent through the network with many classified protection systems in place. The "real" data that could compromise the programme is stored on computers not connected to the internet and locked away. I seriously doubt anything was taken from the program- and just because hackers got in does not mean they saw any data or stole it.

The media needs to watch what the hell they broadcast or publish, because their accusations are baseless and are often proven incorrect. No cyber-security system is perfect, but you shouldn't take that as a threat that someone got in and stole data. The Pentagon is not aware of any intrustions and investigations found nothing out of the usual- no downloading or uploading of information that was not on order.

Link- I smell fraud; if the Wall Street Journal posted it someone has something against Lockheed Martin. Like the Pentagon claimed- if they got something good- there would be an uproar in Congress.

Study says 3 Million Kids Addicted to Video Games

Horse crap.

I am all for getting the 12 year olds off of Xbox Live or Vent, but I find that the claim that 3 million children in the USA are addicted to games is baseless. It is expected by this study that addicted children will perform less well in school, lie, cheat, become thieves and disrespect their parents.

I played video games a lot too- and I was respectful to other people, I performed a 3.4 GPA in high school and I have never gotten in trouble with the law. Of course you can't speak for every kid, but I find that there is a bias behind the study because doctors recommend "quality programming". As I indulged in the things I liked to do- they would be taken away from me because I wasn't "participating in the family unit". I was forced to do things I didn't want to do or forced to go to places I didn't want to go to.

Why is it a bad thing if I don't want to spend time with my family? Authoratarionism sparks rebellion. If kids are going to rot their brains playing games 24/7, let them suffer the consequences, I'd say. Some experts are not convinced by the study, and I agree with them. Video games can be a place to remove your daily stresses and in some genres interact with other people socially. Parents should think twice before pulling the plug.

Higurashi Rei- Funny Arcs!

A friend got me back into Higurashi Rei and I thought the first episode with the magic swim trunks was hillarious. The creators really indulged in our creative minds here as Takano was more revealing, they preyed on the idea that Ooishi, Jiro and the doctor all had their interests, and then you hear Rika outrageously offering cream puffs to Hanyuu in return for capturing Keiichi and his magical trousers, with Rena chanting "I want to take Keiichi and his little bro home!".

Tangents often go off on funny curves, and I enjoyed the artwork on this one. The character art has improved, and that was the first thing that struck me- the art just pops out at you, while retaining some of the old Higurashi style. In the end, it was Keiichi who had to wear the swan suit at the end. Hillarious and worth checking out!

Moral of the Story: Don't Mess with the Amerians

I was eating breakfast this morning in the cafeteria when CNN had a "breaking news alert" saying that a tanker piloted by an American crew was hijacked by Somali Pirates. I said good luck to the pirates, because you don't mess with the US Navy- and either the Seals got to the pirates or the crew has balls (or acorns) of steel, because they retook the ship and disarmed the terrorists. Three are apparantly in the water with one captive- now THATs what I call running a ship! These pirates need to get their act together if they are going to appear professional- or mount some 50 cals on those tankers- pressure them to fire at you, then the navies of the World have to step in.

But why not listen to the Engineers? Throw in one of those handy USV crafts (Protector USV) to do the job! It's a somewhat expensive solution, but you do get more entertainment in blowing up Somali Pirates.
