Week 2: Still No Luck

It's been about 2 weeks since the Nintendo Wii hit store shelves and sold out in record times. There seems to be no more Nintendo Wii units in the area within 50 miles of my home and each and every store I visit or call has no idea when the Wii will be in.

I thought Nintendo wanted to ship 10 million units over? Either they are not telling customers their shipment dates or they really have no idea when Wii units will arrive, since shipments are at a "rush rush" "sell sell" kind of pace. The only thing I can offer to Wii hunters right now like myself is to persistantly call and check out every retail place you can to secure a Wii unit. Persistance and determination WILL pay off.

Expect a longer break around Christmas when it will be even harder to get a Wii. My next target date will be a couple days in the next 3 weeks, but I am really going to "snipe" these stores (as in check them daily NOT shoot the occupants =p) and eventually.... pick up a Wii. They know we want these hot items; I just have no idea why they have no more in stock. Economically, it does not make sense. More tips to follow in the next few weeks.

1) Ring up your local Game Stores and check retail outlets like Walmart and Target. Don't not do it because you are lazy, if you want a Wii DO IT. and DO IT OFTEN. That one chance during the day is your opportunity to secure a Wii

2) Check back weekly with your Game Stores to see if some came in stock (what I am doing). They may sound angry over the phone (they have received the same question THOUSANDS of times) but keep going, they are not angry at you (its cause of YOU they get a paycheck). Persistantly visit your game stores during peak low hours of the week and see what they get in stock.
